Rom Lotan

Rom Lotan is a writer-producer originally from Tel-Aviv, Israel, now residing in Los Angeles. He served for over a decade in the Israeli Defense Intelligence working in the nexus of political/military intelligence, special ops, and international relations, ultimately achieving the rank of Major. He later worked in the tech startup industry in Tel Aviv. In his work, Rom brings fresh, diverse, and authentic perspectives based on his unique personal and professional backgrounds.

 

Rom graduated with an MFA from USC’s prestigious Peter Stark Producing Program. Back in Israel, Rom earned a BSC in Middle Eastern History and Computer Science and an MA in Government and International Relations, for which he completed his thesis with honors and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

On the TV side, he developed shows for leading studios and production companies such as 20th Television Studios with oscar-winner Josh Singer (Spotlight, First Man) and Danny Strong (Dopesick), a musical with Ink Factory (Night Manager) and Idina Manzel (Wicked), and Chris Brancato (Narcos, God of Harlem) and MGM. Previously, Rom was staffed on NATIONALS for AMC (Gran Via, Jason Horwitch). On the feature side, Rom is working on a film adaptation for Atlas with Lukas Gage attached to star and co-write.

 

In the international space, he’s developing several international shows for Yoav Gross (Valley of Tears), Fremantle, Endemol Shine, and DramaTeam (Girl from Oslo) in Israel, Europe, and Asia.
