Mekimi

“Mekimi” is a fascinating drama based on the best-selling autobiography of the same name by Noa Yaron-Dayan. A former TV and radio presenter, Noa joined the Bresolver branch of Orthodox Judaism with her partner, Yuval Dayan, a student at the Sam Spiegel film school.

The series tells the story of Alma, a young media star living in Tel Aviv in the early ‘90s, who seems to have it all: money, fame, a great boyfriend and successful friends. But, under the surface, there is a black hole in Alma’s heart. Dark, mysterious, anarchist film student, Ben, enters her life and the pair fall deeply in love. They appear to be one another’s salvation but are also capable of pulling one another into the depths of oblivion, until they decide to repent and marry.
